11th Annual Head of the Passaic Regatta

And we have record participation HOPR 2011 will be bigger then ever:
235 entries from 33 clubs with a total of 777 participants (150 more than last year)!!!!

Looking forward to a great regatta!

The most competitive events will be event #1a Mens Youth 8+ and #10 Mens Youth 4+, both with 21 teams competing - tightly followed by event #19 Womens Youth 4+ with 20 teams competing. So make sure to be there early - you do not want to miss the sight of 21 eights coming down the course!

Yet a reminder: the deadline for payment and for lineup / waiver submission has also passed - so if you have not submitted the payment / waiver / lineup - do it ASAP!!!

Please note also that the course was changed to avoid conflicts with ongoing
bridge construction and to ensure a safe race!

The Tenth Annual Head of the Passaic will take place on October 15th this year.

The regatta is a ~2.5 mile head race on the Passaic River. This year the course has been slightly modified, the start is just half a mile downstream of Nereid Boat Club and the finish roughly 1.5 miles downstream from PRRA.  The course is challenging with two bridges, two docks, and tidal currents. Half a dozen high school crews and two rowing clubs welcome you and invite you to join in the competition.

• Due to ongoing construction in the neighborhood we will update the directions to the regatta site periodically – so please make sure to check it before you come to us – we will make sure that we have the latest updates posted!
• Join the HOPR team as a volunteer - we are always in looking for some additional hands and eyes – let us know your availability and interest via the volunteer page.  Thank you for your help!
