PARKING

DUE TO LIMITED PARKING THIS YEAR – ONLY THE TOW VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARK WITH CHUCK-WAGONS. OTHER VEHICLES MAY DROP OFF SUPPLIES, BUT THEN MUST RETURN TO THE PARTICIPANT PARKING LOT.

Most participants will park at and launch from Passaic River Rowing Association. Parking is at a premium this year due to renovations of playing fields in Riverside County Park. PLEASE CARPOOL and be prepared to park on side streets. NO PARKING IS PERMITTED ON RIVERSIDE AVENUE. There will be adequate parking for trailers, buses, car-tops, and chuck-wagons (with tow vehicle ONLY).

Boat trailer, tent, chuck-wagon notification:
If you plan to bring a trailer, tent, or chuck-wagon to the regatta, you MUST inform the regatta committee in advance by email to regatta@hopr.org, so that parking spaces can be allotted.

Parking Instructions at Passaic River Rowing Association:

  • The north parking lot is being reserved for boat trailers, car topped boats only, and buses.   Trailers will be asked to park close together so we can accommodate approximately 25 trailers and numerous car tops.  No rigging will be permitted on any paved surfaces, boats will need to be moved to the grass areas of the park for rigging.
  • Any paved paths in the park will need to remain clear and accessible for emergency vehicles and boating in and out.
  • Only trailers, car-topped boats, and buses will be permitted to park in the north lot.  No exceptions, please don’t ask!
  • Spectators and chuck wagons will be directed by regatta volunteers to park in the South lot.  The entrance to the South lot is about 1/4 mile further south on Riverside Ave at the traffic light at the intersection of Riverside Ave and Jauncey St. Please obey the instructions of regatta volunteers who will direct you upon arrival.
  • This is our largest regatta ever and everyone’s cooperation will be required.  Chuck wagons will be directed to proceed to the rear parking lot to enter the park pathways.  From there you will proceed along the paved path and park off the paved path on the grass.
  • Chuck wagons will be permitted to enter the path through the south parking lot only!  It is highly recommended that chuck wagons arrive between 6 and 7:30 am.
  • When in the park, please be careful not to block paths with either boats, chuck wagons or tents. The pathways need to remain accessible for emergency vehicles and personnel.
